तिब्बतीलिपिः
तिब्बतीलिपिः अबुगिडा लेखनपद्धतेः एका लिपिः । भारतीयलिपिः ब्राह्मीलिपितः अस्याः लिपेरुत्पत्तिः । मुख्यरूपेण तिब्बतीभाषया लेखनार्थम् इयं लिपिः तिब्बतीजनैः उपयुज्यते । परन्तु भुटानी-सिक्क्मी-लदाखी भाषास्वपि एषा लिपिः व्यवहृता भवति । अस्याः लिपेः मुद्रितरूपं युचेन् इति नाम्ना उच्यते (फलकम्:Bo; "मात्रा सहित") तथा वक्रहस्तलिखितरूपस्य नाम उमे इति (फलकम्:Bo; "मात्रा रहित")।
तिब्बतीयसंस्कृते वाहिका लिपिरियं तिब्बतदेशान्तरेष्वपि प्रचारिता आसीत् यथा- भुटान्-देशः, नेपालदेशः, भारतदेशः, पाकिस्थानदेशः इत्यादि[१]। लिम्बु-लेप्चालिपयोः जननी एषा तिब्बतीलिपिः[२] ।
साम्प्रतिककाले तिब्बतीलिपेः रोमन्-लिप्यन्तरीकरणं बहुधाप्रकारेण कृतमस्ति [३] ।
इतिहासः
प्रायः क्रैस्तवीयसप्तमशताब्द्यी तिब्बतीलिपेः आविर्भावकालः । ऐतिहासिककथायं वर्णितमस्ति यत्, 'थोन्मि-सम्भोता' इति एकः राजाधिकारी लेखनशैलीं शिक्षणार्थं राज्ञैः प्रषितमासीत् (५६९-६४९)। तस्य प्रत्यागमनस्य अनन्तरं वर्णमाला तत्र रचिताऽसीत् । प्रारम्भिकस्तरे वर्णानाम् आकारः भारतीयलिपिसदृशः आसीत् [४]। तिब्बतीलिपेः परिवर्तनस्य धारात्रयम् वर्तन्ते । तेषु प्रमुखधारा बौद्धपुस्तकानां सङ्कलनमासीत् (नवमशताब्द्यायाः प्रथमभागः) । लिपेः स्तरपरिवर्तनं नासीत् तदा किन्तु कथ्यभाषायां परिवर्तितासीत् । यथा संयुक्तोच्चारणस्य लोपः ।

इतरभारतीयलिपिसदृशः तिब्बतीयव्यञ्जनवर्णाः स्वरयोजिताः भवन्ति । अस्याः लिपेर्वैशिष्ट्यम् यत् वर्णाः मूलरूपेण वा भिन्नथाऽपि लेखितुं शक्याः । तथा विशेषवर्णाः, उपवर्णाः सन्ति ।

व्यञ्जनवर्णाः
देवनागरी वर्णमालायां मूर्धन्यवर्णाः 'ट ठ ड ण ष' (फलकम्:Unicode, फलकम्:Unicode, फलकम्:Unicode, फलकम्:Unicode, फलकम्:Unicode) तिब्बतीलिप्यां तालव्यवर्णैः द्योत्यन्ते 'त थ द ध न श'फलकम्:Bo-textonly (ta, tha, da, na, sha)। तालव्यवर्णानां तिब्बतीय-अनुवादस्य प्राचीननियमानुसारं 'च छ ज झ' (ca cha ja jha) फलकम्:Bo-textonly (tsa tsha dza dzha), वर्णैः परिवर्तते । परन्तु वर्तमानकाले फलकम्:Bo-textonly (ca cha ja jha) प्रयोगोऽपि दृश्यते ।
यूनिकोड संस्करणम्
यूनिकोड प्रथमसंस्करणेषु लिपिषु तिब्बती लिपिः एका (१९९१), यूनिकोडसूचिः U+1000–U+104F। यद्यपि १९९३ संवत्सरे सम्स्करणं १.१ परिवर्तितासीत् । तिब्बतीलिपिः पुनर्संयोजनम् १९९६ तमे सम्वत्सरे जुलै मासे अभवत् (यूनिकोड संस्करणम् २.०) ।

लिप्यन्तरीकरणम्
बह्वनुवादकतन्त्राणि तथा तिब्बतीलिप्यन्तीकरणतन्त्राणि वर्तमानकाले उपलभ्यन्ते । तेषु अधिकव्यवहृतम् तन्त्रमस्ति वैली लिप्यन्तरीकरणविधिः (Wylie transliteration)।
